ASSANGE PROCESS: VIDEO INTERVIEW WITH FATHER JOHN SHIPTON OF OUR ENCOUNTER IN LONDON BERENICE GALLI

Who is behind the judge who tries Assange

Manlio Dinucci

Emma Arbuthnot is the chief judge who, in London, instructed the trial for the extradition of Julian Assange to the US, where a sentence awaits him a 175 years in prison for "espionage", that is, for having published, as investigative journalist, evidence of US war crimes, including videos of the massacres of civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan.

At the trial, assigned to Judge Vanessa Baraitser, every request of the defense was rejected. in 2018, after Sweden’s sexual assault charges fell, Judge Arbuthnot refused to cancel the arrest warrant, so that Assange could not obtain asylum in Ecuador.

Arbuthnot rejected the findings of the UN Working Group on the arbitrary detention of Assange. Unheard also those of the UN leader against torture: «Assange, detained in extreme conditions of unjustified isolation, shows the typical symptoms of prolonged exposure to psychological torture ".

in 2020, while thousands of detainees were transferred to house arrest as an anti-Coronavirus measure, Assange was left in prison, exposed to contagion in compromised physical conditions.

In court Assange cannot consult with lawyers, but he is kept isolated in an armored glass cage, and threatened with expulsion if he opens his mouth.

What is behind this persistence? Arbuthnot has the title of "Lady", being consort of Lord James Arbuthnot, known Tory "hawk", former Minister of Defense Procurement, linked to the military-industrial complex and the secret services.

Lord Arbuthnot is among other things chairman of the British advisory board of Thales, French multinational specialized in aerospace military systems, and a member of that of Montrose Associates, specializing in strategic intelligence (well-paid assignments).

Lord Arbuthnot is a member of the Henry Jackson Society (HJS), influential transatlantic think tank linked to the US government and intelligence. Last July, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke at a round table of the HJS in London: since he was director of the CIA in 2017, he blames WikiLeaks, founded by Assange, to be "an enemy spy service". The same campaign leads the Henry Jackson Society, accusing Assange of «sowing doubts on the moral position of Western democratic governments, with the support of autocratic regimes ".

On the political council of the HJS, alongside Lord Arbuthnot, was until recently Priti Patel, the current UK Home Secretary, who is responsible for the extradition order of Assange

To this pressure group that is conducting a pounding campaign for the extradition of Assange, directed by Lord Arbuthnot and other influential characters, Lady Arbuthnot is substantially connected. She was appointed by the Queen as Chief Magistrate in September 2016, after WikiLeaks published the most compromising documents for the US in March.

These include emails from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton revealing the true purpose of the NATO war on Libya: prevent it from using its gold reserves to create a pan-African currency alternative to the dollar and the CFA franc, the currency imposed by France a 14 former colonies.

The real "crime" for which Assange is tried is that of having opened cracks in the political-media silence wall that covers the real interests of powerful elites who, operating in the "deep state", they play the war card. It is this occult power that brings Julian Assange to trial, instructed by Lady Arbuthnot, which as a treatment of the accused recalls those of the Holy Inquisition.

If extradited to the US, Assange would be subjected to "special administrative measures" much tougher than the British ones: he would be isolated in a small cell, he could not contact his family or speak, not even through the lawyers who, if they brought his message, would be indicted. In other words, he would be sentenced to death.
